Water Season + Lunar New Year

As we approach the Lunar New Year and settle deeper into Water season, many people are feeling the heaviness of the times more acutely. This time of year naturally stirs the Water element, which is the part of us connected to fear, deep emotion, and the instinct to retreat and conserve. When things feel uncertain, that sensitivity can heighten.

If you’ve been feeling more tender, more tired, or more aware of the world’s intensity, maybe even with a desire to hunker down, you’re not alone. This season asks for softness, warmth, rest, and steadiness.

As we move toward Imbolc in early February, which is the quiet midpoint between winter and spring, the light begins its slow return. Even though the days are still cold and short, this is the time when the body often senses a subtle shift: a little more brightness, a little more possibility, a gentle reminder that renewal is on its way. It’s a beautiful moment to tend to yourself with patience and care.
